Why I’m Starting At the Top When I Submit My Writing

I’ve always thought that when it came to writing I needed to work my way up towards the top. I guess that’s the conditioning I’ve received from life in general. You start on the bottom rung of the ladder and work your way up rung by rung hoping to someday reach the top.

I’ve also thought that in order to get anywhere I had to have something to say that was different and I just didn’t know what that might be.

There came a point when I came to the understanding that we can all write about the same thing but we will each have a different view of that thing and a different way of expressing it. The way I write might make sense to one group whereas, the same story told differently might not make sense to them at all.

I’ve had that experience with math, chemistry and even dance lessons. One person will explain a concept or dance step and I don’t understand what they are saying. (Unfortunately, that person is usually the teacher!) Another person will explain it using different words and it makes total sense.

So there is room for everyone to write and express themselves because someone will get it. Someone might be changed by it or inspired.

A best seller happens when lots of someones like what you have to say. While I would love to write a best seller, I write…
