I Think There Should Be More Words For Love!

When is the first time you felt the sensation of love in your heart?

For me it was when I was three years old and saw my little sister for the first time. It felt like my chest just opened up and a sensation of feeling flowed out of it and into that tiny little helpless being. It was the first time I knew what love was.

When I had my own children, that feeling was a gazillion times stronger. My heart felt like it was expanding so much I couldn’t imagine any greater feeling of love and then I learned that it was just the beginning and that this love would continue to grow and expand. And then came the grandkids!

So speaking of kids: When I was a kid, we had fun making heart shaped folders, or big construction paper envelopes decorated with hearts, and then we had a Valentine’s party and gave each other valentines. Do they even still do that in elementary school?

For me, it was a major holiday. The teacher would give us a list of the student’s names in our class and we were required to bring a valentine for each person. I remember sitting by the hour and choosing just the right valentine for each person. I took it very seriously. Then I would sign it and write their name on the envelope and hand them out on the big day. Our folders would be filled with valentines and I read each one and noted…
