How I De-cluttered My Home And What It Did For My Life.

For many years I lived in the land of piles. There was a time when my home looked like a hoarder’s home. There was no garbage on the floor or broken appliances being saved; there was just a lot of stuff. I would buy bigger houses but it was amazing how quickly they would be full of stuff.

One day my life, as I knew it, ended.

My husband made some really bad choices and I ended up with no income, no home and a restraining order on my true love. I did have a commercial building where I had a small store and dance studio and I created a nest for myself in the storeroom. I had a shower but no kitchen and I lived in that 200 square foot space for two years.

Making along story short, I ended up losing that building but getting my 1400 square foot home back and I moved back in. It’s just amazing how quickly that space filled up!

My daughter started talking about minimizing and I started thinking about how nice it would be if I had less stuff. Mostly I imagined how nice it would be if I wasn’t always digging through piles trying to find stuff, especially piles of paperwork.

I had spent my life trying to get organized but being ADD meant that when I put something away, I’d most likely never see it again. The normal way of filing paperwork doesn’t work for…
